Values

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba

“Human Values are contained in everyone, and these should be preserved. Man cannot become good merely being highly educated. Worldly education confers only Artha (wealth) and Swartha (Selfishness), and is information oriented and makes a man a computer. Only spiritual education is transformation-oriented, and makes a man a composer."

Values For Life

There are schools and programs to groom young kids into achievers, but how do you shape someone into becoming a good human being?

Keeping with Bhagawan’s aims and ideals, we start early.

That is why education at Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar is not just about what the books have to say. We aim to instill in children the values of Indian culture – “Satyam Vada”, “Dharmam Chara”, “Matru Devo Bhava”, “Pitru Devobhava” And “Acharya Devobhava”. They are trained to develop in themselves, a deep sense of faith in God, and respect towards elders and their motherland.

Integration Of Values Into The Classroom

All the teachers at Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar are trained by the Institute Of Sathya Sai Education, Mumbai, in the Sathya Sai way of Value Education. Values are incorporated through stories and acts, and also through classroom teaching – they are subtly integrated in all the lessons taught by us.

Faith

“There is only one religion. The religion of Love.”- Baba

At Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, we teach students to respect all religions, and believe that there are many things to imbibe from each. We celebrate festivals of all the major religions followed in India. And yet, the framework of moral principles that we inculcate in young minds is independent of religion. We understand that social responsibility and ethics are not dependent on the faith you follow, and our method of teaching takes into account this very fact.

Education in Human Values (EHV)

In addition to the academic syllabus prescribed by the Andhra Pradesh state government, the institution also meticulously follows a special moral education syllabus approved by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

The syllabus is called “Education in Human Values” (EHV). Classes in EHV are conducted every morning, immediately after the prayer session.

In these sessions, students are taken through the nuances of Indian culture and spirituality. Also, special care is taken to broaden their outlook, with interesting lessons on national integration, the idea of peaceful co-existence, secularism and service to mankind. We do all this through simple stories from Indian epics, and from the lives of great men in the world.

The Divine Journey

One of the biggest celebrations in the school is the birthday of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, on 23rd November. Activities and preparations for the event start a month in advance. Once a year, students are taken to Prasanthi Nilayam, the abode of Bhagawan Sathya Sai Baba.

Teachers – Messengers Of The Lord

The dedicated staff of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar are more than teachers to the students – they are the guides who show them the right path, friends who give them the right advice, and family who share their happiness and weep for their troubles. They are the ones who instill rich values and noble thoughts into the students. Together, they spread the message of the Lord.

Our teachers are also active social workers, who take part in various activities like Narayana Seva, representing the school from Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Hyderabad Zone.

Following the path laid by Bhagawan Sai, the school wishes to take more active part in the upliftment of the society, by coordinating with the activities of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, apart from offering the best education in the vicinity. For this, the school seeks the support of parents and well-wishers, to create the leaders of tomorrow, and to create a better world.
